Input wanted
i just want some input on this matter. i'm putting a non-graded t06 set together. i have about 80 graded 1,2,3's. should i crack them out or leave in holders.
|
Id sell the 3's.. and buy new raw ones.. cracking the rest wouldnt be as bad... but your always going to throw some $$ away because graded cards tend to sell for more if you ever needed to sell.
or just screw the money and crack them all... they're your cards.. and u love them right? :) |
Crack 'em. Price difference, if any, is negligible.

I have same issue. Am planning on getting crackin. Though I only have 1s and 2s.
|
Larry, if they are anything other than PSA, crack 'em and enjoy!
The VG PSA's will diminish in value (imo). So I would sell them as is and pile the cash for raw purchases of the same or different subjects. Think about it, sell high, buy low (as opposed to the opposite which i tend to encounter...) |
keep them
Keep the higher VG or better in holders, even if just to protect them, but also re-sale if there SCG or PSA anything else

I'd probably leave any high value cards slabbed, for protection and that if you did need to sell them, having them authenticated by TPG would probably help the sale price.
|
How do you plan on displaying the raw cards? I am contemplating the same idea, even though I only have about a dozen items.
|
Crack 'em, Larry. Start with the 1's, that way if you develop crackers remorse, you haven't harmed the resale value of any cards.
Incidentally, if there's a ever a fire in your house, and you don't have a fireproof safe, would you rather carry out a small box of raw cards, or several unwieldy boxes of slabbed 1's and 2's? That'll give you more time to go back in and save your loved ones after your cards are safe. |

Crackem!
Hi Larry
Crackem out, you won't regret it. I have been collecting the t206 set for a few years now and almost all of them are raw. Actually most of the cards I buy are graded and then I crack them out. I then place them into a penny sleeve, then into a T size top loader and finally into a 9-page ultra sheet, then into a binder. They look incredible all together in the binder and to tell you the truth I couldn't imagine the extra added bulk of graded card cases, that would be ridiculous for the t206 set! Besides they really do look amazing when you thumb through the pages! Jeff |
Crack em!

Hi Larry. Crack away my friend........
|
If low grade, I would break them out of their slabs.

Save the slips from the slabs to go with the card. I bought a card a couple months ago and as a surprise it came with a slip from an SGC slab. Probably the right one too, the card was a 10 and looks it. But still nice to know it got a number and I suppose could be reslabbed if I wanted.
I've ony sent a handful of cards for grading, it was fun, and I'll probably send a few more. But I can't see doing it for stuff that will get 1s and 2s. I'm too lazy to crack out the low grade card I bought, but I guess if I had a bunch of them the bulk might matter. Steve B |
thanks for your comments. and a crackin i'll go!!:D
|
I have cracked a bunch, go for it.
I use 15-pocket sheets designed for the tobacco cards, and they look great. |
OR, you could
just sell them to me at a good price xoxoxo
|
I'll sell them for what i paid and no less. and that's a good price!!!:D
