Heritage Auction
We heard that the Heritage Auction produced mixed results.
A significant number of lots did not meet the minimum bid, and a number of items went through the roof Did anyone attend- having difficult opening download of prices realized. For those attended, we'd welcome the opportunity to hear your commentary Thanks Bruce Dorskind America's Toughest Want List |
I'm curious as well
I read an article online that stated the Batman Comic book sold for $657K.
I can't seem to find any info on the sports auction. Maybe someone else can jump in here? Tony |
Can someone post the prices realized for the E107 Mathewson, Boston Garter Jackson, and Zeenut Weaver. Thanks
|
Quote:
I watched it on-line and took a few notes but only up to lot 30. At some point she stopped saying "this will be available online." I think I counted 8 out of the first 30 did not sell. The one item that struck me as going extremely high was the Cap Anson bat that ended at $240,000 + vig. |
Prices realized:
The Matty went for $119,500, the altered Wagner went for $227.050. I am thinking the Boston Garter and the 1911 Zeenut Weaver didn't meet the reserve as I see no prices realized. |
The Heritage Auction
We were very pleased with the results of the first "Platinum Night" auction at the National convention. The assigned auctioneer couldn't make the auction due to a cancelled flight so Andrea Voss called the auction with only 2 hours notice. For someone who doesn't have a background in sports I think she did a great job.
After factoring in the post-auction sales, we went over the $1.9 million mark for 69 lots and the remaining 17 lots are still available on our web site. Some of the card highlights were the E107 Mathewson ($119,500), T206 American Beauty Frank Baker ($21,510) and the N173 Old Judge Buck Ewing cabinet that sold for $17,925. The Anson bat sold for $286,800; the Mordecai Brown signed ball sold for $65,725 and the Ruth single signed ball went for $83,650. Prices include BP. I hope everyone who attended had a good time and we are looking forward to hosting another Platinum Night event next year in Chicago. |
Thanks Mr Marquette and Mr Calderon

The Auctioneer wasn't my favorite and she seemed very nervous. Otherwise, very cool auction.
