I had the honor of this photo being used for the title page in Harvey Fromer's wonderful book "Remembering Yankee Stadium" from 2008. Several of my other photos were used as well...

I could probably add tons to this thread, but then I wouldn't be able to get any painting done.
Here are a couple shots of the Polo Grounds during the 1913 World Series: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ds1913WS-3.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ds1913WS-2.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...rounds1913.jpg Graig |

I own 20 or so original photos from the files of the White Construction Co. documenting the contruction of Yankee Stadium.
Alot of fun to pore over these with an eyeglass - seeing the workers hammering in the bleacher seats, carrying paint, sweeping, etc. Too many of the later ones are not scanned in - they are beauties - including one panoramic shot of the completed park. What are remarkable feat of human engineering - all done in 10 months! |

Those Yankee Stadium Constuction shots are amazing... and Jimmy's view from right field is nothing short of spectacular.
Here's one perhaps not so monumental, but a Stadium you rarely see pictured. Maybe because the Senators' play over the years was so "forgettable". Anyway, here's a panoramic shot of Griffith Stadium in DC, taken in the early 1940s... |
Jackson, That little house in the 2nd photo, Is that the one Ruth built?

1914 Weeghman Park
One of my earliest and rarest images of Wrigley Field - Real Photo 1914 postcard of a Chicago Federal League game in progress. I think it is against St. Louis (can read opposing team on scoreboard with magnifying glass and I was able to identify the exact game) The large building in left field was torn down after the 1914 season.

1. Yankee Stadium, 1932 WS 8x10 photo
2. Harry M. Stevens YS Panorama 1939. I think these used to be Graig's. The detail upon blow-up is stunning. 3. Honolulu Stadium, the old Termite Palace - not sure of date but snapshot came with a group of Prince Oana photos from 1930s 2. San Francisco Rec Park post card- dated to 1910s 3. Denver Bears Stadium post card 4. A great shot of a baseball game being played at the Ohio/Pennsylvania League ball field in Liverpool Ohio.
It's postmarked June 1911 and has the absolute coolest image I think I've ever seen on an RPPC. The townsmen and kids climbing the fence for a birds eye view of the ball game is just classic. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95...tdoorpc3-1.jpg |
Wow!---
---Some AMAZING photos, to say the least!

Boston Ballparks
About 9 years ago I purchased a group of snapshots from a Boston area estate that were taken from 1910 to 1915 era at various Boston ball parks . Here are two of my favorites from that group:
1) Image of Huntington Avenue Grounds circa 1911. Check out the "Nuff Ced" advertisement on the lower left field stands. 2) 1912 view of right field at Fenway park with fans on the Bull Durham sign. I have several pictures of this same game and based on the information on the scoreboard in a series of these pictures I think they are from the 1912 game where Smokey Joe Wood went up against Walter Johnson when they had there consectutive win streaks. http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...untington2.jpg http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...912Fenway6.jpg |

That is really nice - it shows how the orientation of the diamond has changed, with the left field line moving to the left to line up with the building that is still standing.

Bob,
Those slides are AWESOME. Please tell me you have more to post! Graig |

Wow, Bob!! Those are incredible!! I would love to paint those Yankee Stadium shots, especially the lineup from Opening Day - the color seems so vivid. I can absolutely feel the chilly April afternoon. Please tell me they're more in your collection!!

A grocery store flyer announcing the opening of Milwaukee's County Stadium. The postcard shows Eau Clair's Carson Stadium where Henry Aaron spent the '52 season with the Eau Clair Bears. Today, the plaza in front of the enterance, has a statue of Hank.
