Vintage Card Shops
Where in the Southeast are the best vintage card shops? Does Atlanta have any that have quality vintage cards?
|
Atlanta - no, for vintage.

shops
Jeff's right---when i lived in Atlanta nearly 30 years you could find some great places. now the SE is pretty barren, in this domain, in my experience.
best, barry |
Truthfully, NO.
You're best bet for anything vintage is Ebay, Net54, Collectors' U, or Grand Slam (You're welcome guys;) ) I'm being completely honest. I live in Nashville and there is nothing within 300 miles worth visiting. Trust me, wife and I have been there. |

Outside ATL
I can put out a table in my front yard, but that is about the best that I can do for ya! Not much shaking in the ATL, sad to say.

"But you said you wanted old cards." "Those aren't old enough..." "They're 30 years old!" Forget about material from the 1950s/60s. Anything that you find is often priced at Hi Beckett even if the card is VG/EX. Prewar? Not even in the local hobby shops. |
Shops
I'm in Savannah, none that I could find in 100 mile raduis, I have even checked most antique shops and no luck pre-war...

I must agree with my fellow board memebers
I am afraid I must agree with my fellow board members. I live in Kentucky and there is nothing here anymore. There was one good shop in lexington that had some 50's and 60's cards but he closed his shop a few years ago. As for prewar, the board, and ebay are my only outlets for finding T210 series 6 cards which are what I collect.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, that has been my experience as well. I am traveling through Atlanta tomorrow is why I was asking. I live in NC and am not aware of any quality vintage shops in the state. If there are any, please let me know. How about Virginia?
