First AP report of Mickey Mantle's Liver Cancer
 

Here's an unusual AP wire report breaking the news that New York Yankees legend Mickey Mantle was suffering from liver cancer and hepatitis C. Dated 6/07/95, this initial report is marked "Urgent" with a Dallas dateline and is 6 paragraphs long. I was working in a news room at the time and saved this historic report. Sadly, Mick passed away two months later on Aug. 13, 1995.
