Now you don't think I'd start a Williams thread and forget my Pisano, do you?
July 17th, 1941 "All good things must end" Vintage original TYPE I photo of the Yanks in the clubhouse after Ken Keltner ended Joe DiMaggio's record hit streak at 56 on July 17, 1941 before a then-record night crowd (67,468) in Cleveland. Keltner made two stops of DiMaggio line drives, one a brilliant backhanded stab. Attachment 19759 And a very tough DiMaggio signed GPC during the 1941 season. Attachment 19760 Attachment 19761 |

Both signed around 1995. Joe almost didn't sign the Williams photo as he said something similar to....I told him not to sign anymore of these photos! He did end up signing it and then got happy when I gave him the Model Builder magazine to sign. He said something like.....I loved those trains.

A sweet ashtray presentation piece to Joe from the "Martinez Italian American Boys Club" from his estate. This piece is special to me because my Mother had joined me up in a similar club when I was about 7 or 8.

My 18 x 14 combination photo of Joe D--the 1st panel shows him as a Rookie in 1936 and the 2nd was taken in the Yankee office when he was there to announce his retirement after the 1951 season.
I paid something like $25 for a single sig @ a show in Prov, RI in the middle '80's and while we were talking he went ahead & signed both sides for me! I got it around late '51 or early '52 & have never seen another combo photo like this anywhere. It may have been issued by a Buffalo NY newspaper, but I'm not entirely sure. |
Joe...You may now kiss the Bride...

I got this one a very long time ago and Mr. DiMaggio was as nice as he could be to me. I had heard others had a surly exprience with the Yankee Clipper but he even personalized this one for me without me asking. Just recently sent this to PSA/DNA more for encapsulation than authentication since I knew it was real.
