OT: Autographed Silent Film Star Photos
This is off topic but I thought someone on this board might be able to help.
I purchased a lot of silent film star photos some time ago. Most are autographed. I am almost certain the signatures are authentic. The photos are definitely from the period and many were made out to the same woman. She must have had some sort of in in Hollywood. These are two of the better signatures in the group - Harold Lloyd and William Hart. I am hoping someone here can confirm that these signatures are authentic and can provide me with a value. Thanks! http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ilentphoto.jpg http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...lentphoto1.jpg http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...lentphoto2.jpg http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...lentphoto3.jpg |
Can't help you there but they are very impressive. Who else did you get?
|
Jeez, did Harold Lloyd take up calligraphy as a hobby? That's quite an impressive inscription.
|
We should be using Harold Lloyd's picture for this month's "a pictures worth a thousand words". One caption comes to mind..."Candy little girl?"

Both Authentic
Hey Ben,
They both seem good to us. The Lloyd looks a little *too* flamboyant (more than usual), but it looks legit. We get between $125 to $225 for similar poses of William S. Hart. Harold Lloyd goes for between $250 -450 in our auction. Feel free to contact me regarding the authenticity of the others. Cool stuff. Bobby www.rrauction.com |
Thanks for the input everyone! I'll post pics of the other photos when I have more time. If you'd like to add this photo to the "Create a Caption" thread please do!
|
My only addition to this thread is to recommend folks who haven't see a Harold Lloyd silent movie or two. Quite entertaining.
