A pal of mine posted this on Facebook...

"It's light up time" :D,,,,,,,,wow, that was interesting!!Very cool.....
Thanks for posting that Jimmy--I wonder if that commercial would've played during "Leave It To Beaver" or shows of that sort (don't know if I have my years right). Clayton |
When I was a kid we had a different slogan for LS/MFT!:p
I'm sure some of you know it! |
What a disgusting commercial. I especially liked the part at the beginning when the guy unwraps the pack and throws his garbage on the ground.
|
Fred- the one I remember is Loose Suspenders Mean Falling Trousers. But I'll guess there were others.
The woman's voice on the commercial was so soothing it made me want to light one up. |
Cool web site

Check out the Pee Wee Reese commercial around the 4 minute mark. Includes a youthful Don Zimmer. Also after watching the second commercial for band aids I now know what taking acid at a playground would be like. |
These commercials seem crazy today but I recall in the 60s it was no big deal to see Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble as spokesmen for Winstons.

Both Andy Griffith and James Arness(marshall Dillon) did commercials for Cigarettes on their respective shows. Some of the DVD sets contain them as extras.

there is another great one located in classic commercials #1 with campy, reese and zimmer for gillette...#1 for not reading this whole thread

Though Jeff's alluded to it already, I too noticed the guy thoughtlessly throwing the top of the package of the floor, at .10. More classy behavior from a tobacco company.
As a Brooklyn Dodger fan, did enjoy that aspect of the commercial, though. |
Barry---
LS/MFT=Loose sweaters mean floppy -its!

Never heard that one.
