So long fellas!

It has been said that all people bring happiness...some by arriving, and others by leaving. I wanted to say thanks to those who have truly supported my short stay here. I had a great amount of excitement and fun while it lasted. Best of luck to all of you, and may your dream card be right around the next corner!!!

chiprop 05-15-2010 04:47 PM

Not sure why the announcement is needed. Later!

So long......and THANKS for all the Fish!

Lovely Day...

I'll believe it when I see it

A) Anyone want to start a poll on how long it will take for the "I'm free to change my mind" / "I'm returning again" posts will be made?

B) Is it really a goodbye thread if the original poster keeps logging on to see how the Net54 community responds to his goodbye? What if he makes posts in this thread after saying goodbye?

C) If your greatest contribution to this Board is creating arguments then you really ought to stop posting.

D) Totally agree -- when you leave, no need to say goodbye; just stop posting. Just remember -- 99% of the Board won't miss 99% of us when we stop posting. If you post a goodbye thread it is because you think someone will care.

I'm retiring!

Leon 05-15-2010 05:30 PM

I am announcing I am continuing to be a board member.

I lurk on this forum most of the time, and have stayed away from all the drama on some of these threads, at first I got some laughs, then after a while it was like a train wreck. I knew what was coming but couldn't stop reading, and lately it's like a bad episode of Jersey Shore , I just want it to be over , so I can only hope this thread is locked and all of us just move on.

GoldenAge50s 05-15-2010 05:40 PM

If Leon's stayin'---I'm stayin'!---but ONLY if he keeps showing his coin collection!

Wow, I didn't know you were here. Well you know where to find us when you start posting again next week...or later on tonight.

Seinfeld has nothing on this board. If Leon had any business sense he would take all the threads, hire a writer or two, make a pilot and 20 years later we could watch the finale. Emmy award winner for sure.

JasonL 05-15-2010 06:03 PM

Hmmm...

What a bizarre waste of a keyboard you are!

Happy Trails.

I think Rob D hit the nail right on the head!!!! I got 5 bucks that says Chicago is a Favre fan!

calvindog 05-15-2010 06:19 PM

Well, birthdays are merely symbolic of how another year has gone by and
how little we've grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better
self will emerge, with each flicker of the candles on the cake, we know it's not
to be, that for the rest of our sad, wretched pathetic lives, this is who we are
to the bitter end. Inevitably, irrevocably; happy birthday? No such thing.

chiprop 05-15-2010 06:37 PM

Jeff- what does that mean?

Please do. Then every time you make a post, maybe someone will say it offends him or her and ask you to remove it. That's always great fun.

I have had enough of this board and all of the fighting. I am quitting and never coming back.

I'm back!

I'm back. You are all forgiven and I love all of you.

sox1903wschamp 05-15-2010 07:50 PM

Nice analogy to Favre Rob. The big similarity? Attention seekers.

JP 05-15-2010 08:35 PM

To be fair, to Favre, I really do think it was his love for the game that brought him back the first time or two. He genuinely loves the sport.

usernamealreadytaken 05-15-2010 08:46 PM

Chicago, we hardly knew ye...

rc4157 05-15-2010 09:06 PM

Thanks Rick - That gave me a chuckle even with knowing what was coming.

Nice Seinfeld or

“Your birthday is a special time to celebrate the gift of 'you' to the world.”

It's from Seinfeld, and this is something Jerry says shortly after George has asked him not to be so funny all the time.

One of the great pop tunes of all time. Re-made by a cappella group The Nylons -- also excellent.

As the country & western song says, "How can I miss you if you never, ever leave?"

calvindog 05-16-2010 04:27 PM

Damn, I hope I get this kind of love when I announce my departure. Of course, my departure could be accelerated should David send that LC Matty my way. Sort of a quid pro quo.

You are talking like your departure will be voluntary. I think that's called assuming facts not in evidence. ;)
