Help please in dating this pennant
 

Am hoping someone on this forum can help dating this pennant....

The NY Baseball Giants were National League Champs many times - from the look I was guessing either a 20's or 30's era piece. Any opinion is appreciated!

Nope... not '20s or even '30s... sorry!

It is a late 1940s/early 1950s piece. Just made to look rather nostalgic. Many teams besides the Giants used this generic motif, including Brooklyn, Cincinnati, Philadelphia and the Yankees. Some are dated; most are not.

1951 would be the best guess for this one.

I know.... it looks older because of the graphics (and has been sold many times on ebay as such). But other teams used the same exact game scene graphics. They simply replaced the words "Polo Grounds" with "Ebbets Field", "Yankee Stadium", "Crosley Field", etc.

This one is late 40s / early 50s timeframe for sure. Since it says NL Champs, I would say there's an 80% probability it's from 1951, and 20% chance it's from '54.

Note the same basic graphics, but with Ebbets Field taking the place of Polo Grounds (and other very subtle differences...)
