56 Topps Identification help
2 Attachment(s)
Found this strange back in a collection of 56 cards. Appears to have been hand cut. The front is the same as a standard 56 topps card bu the back is funky. Has anyone seen this typs before? Any help would be appreciated.

I believe these were cut from salesman samples, each of which contained three cards. I've seen them in auction catalogs. I'm sure others know more than I do.

the back of the 55 bowman sample
1936 Bowman??
|
The salesman sample panels were normal cards in uncut panels with an ad sheet pasted over the back.

Bowman was originally known as Gum, Inc. and produced the Playball series from 1939 to 1941 but what does the 1936 refer to?

I think the 20th anniversary
And Dave H or Ted Z needs to correct me if I wrong; refers to the founding of the Bowman company.

There must not be any Non-sports guys on the board. I am pretty sure the G-Men Non sports cards were issued in 1936 by Bowman. So, that could be the Anniversary they are referring to. Of course they do say Baseball cards, so not sure.
