Bewildering Ebay Auction Description

After reading (actually it wasn't really reading) the description on this E90-1 Cobb reprint. I hereby nominate this ebayer for our yearly "Net54 Stengelese Razzie" award. Does anybody want to second the nomination?

I really would love to ask this "noshipping2010 professor' a question. But I'm frightened.

Lovely Day...

Bizzarro. Looks like the guy did a search somewhere for 'Ty Cobb Baseball Card' and then just pasted in the results as his item description.

What a rambling load of crap. Half the time I had no idea what he was talking about. It's like one of those Babelfish English translators.

Nothing like a well thought out, well written description to ensure top dollar in an auction.

iggyman 03-20-2010 07:50 PM

Okay, I take it all back. I hadn't noticed that this professor has two bids by seemly veteran eBayers. I guess the subliminal messages are working.

Lovely Day...

There it is in a nutshell. I like it. Can I borrow that line sometime?

Bought a bunch of reprints on EBay and then lists them as
"unknown". Cards are getting bid on too. I reported the listings.
If others do the same maybe they'll cut him off before an auction ends.

If people would just look at the guys feedback, they would see that he's picked up a bunch of reprints as well too as the seller of the reprints says "Thanks for buying my (insert player) reprint!" as a comment. Unreal.

Description reminds me of this

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.:)

Must have taken some time to come up with that description. Defies logic.

Looks like the worst case of keyword spamming I've seen, since E-bay started cracking down on sellers who were including encyclopedia entries into their descriptions just so the search engine would pick up a keyword. If someone wants to get it pulled by ebay that's probably the best way.

This guy needs to crawl back under his log.On top of everything else,he charges 1 penny for shipping.

I picture the guy sitting in front of his computer with a Burger King crown on his head........:D

barrysloate 03-21-2010 05:25 AM

That's why I say never take methamphetamine before you sit down to list on ebay!

wolterse 03-21-2010 05:37 AM
