Plank Cards with T206-like Pose
I don't think I'll ever get a real T206 Plank. So I've been looking into substitute cards with a similar pose. So far I've identified:
E95 Philadelphia Caramel M116 Sporting Life E104 Nadja Any I'm missing? From what I've seen, the E104 is definitely the most valuable of the three, but which is generally more valuable between the E95 and M116? Thanks! |
How bout the E107?
Very expensive in any grade but similar pose nonetheless http://images.ha.com/lf?source=url%5...vemd%5btrue%5d |
e95 is.
there's also t204 if you like tobacco and e107 with similar images. i think the e104 image is actually inverted, or reversed, or flipped whichever the correct word is. |
Here's a beauty I've got (PC760):

I personally LOVE the E95.

Plank Horner pose
Other beautiful/difficult Planks. Either of these, along with the E104's, would be the most similar to the T206 as they too have blue backgrounds:
D359 (Williams & Rochester Baking) T208 Fireside (this is probably the most expensive) |

E104 w/Nadja back

One of the scarcest, next to the T208, would be the E104 w/nadja back.

Leon - the E104 appears to be a different pose of Plank (albeit still a portrait). |
It seems like to me the M116 Sporting Life or E95 are the least expensive route to a T206-like pose of Plank.
I have seen an SGC 70 M116 Sporting Life listed for $1250, and a PSA 7 for $2400. Any idea if these listings are anywhere near what these cards would go for at auction? |

original poster's question(s)

I was only going by what the original poster put in his post. To paraphrase- " So I've been looking into substitute cards with a similar pose. So far I've identified: E95 Philadelphia Caramel M116 Sporting Life E104 Nadja " kind regards LL edited to add that I understand "T206-like" was in the title. But I don't think that was the exact question, though it could have been, I guess :) |
I actually think its the same pose, just inverted

VCP avgs. SGC70 = $921.00 PSA7 = $1265 If those are ebay BINs I imagine that they are a bargain!:D |
The 1911 Diamond Gum Pins series also features the same Plank pose as the T206. Is it a Carl Horner portrait?

I'm thinking that rawoysterman could probably put you into these for under $20 though! :D |
