New to the Forum
Hi guys, I just signed up and wanted to introduced myself. I collected cards in the 1980's as a kid, lost my collection (which was probably valued at around 18 dollars, but like so many on craigslist, I thought it was priceless), and have started collected pre WWII era cards.
This is a great forum, I'll probably be bugging you guys often (at first) while I get my feet wet. Are there any annoyances I should try to avoid (like, is asking for opinions on eBay frowned upon? ). Thanks, Joe |
Hi Joe- welcome to the board. You can pretty much ask any question you'd like; it's probably already been discussed, but that's never stopped anyone.
|
Welcome, Joe. Only advice I'd give is not to bump a really old thread unless it is a real important contribution. There's lots to see and do here, so have fun!
|
Welcome Joe. I agree with Barry. Over the years, everything relating to vintage baseball cards has been discussed, but ask anyway. :D

welcome aboard
Hi Joe
Welcome aboard. Can't add too much to what the others have said. Make sure that if you are selling something it's done in the Buy/Sell/Trade area. If there is an ongoing auction it's usually better not to post about it before it ends. There is no rule, and some disagree, but overall it calls attention to the auction and usually makes it harder (read- more expensive) to acquire. Specifically it's better if you wait until ebay auctions are done. Major/premium auction items are alway ok to talk about, live or ended. Just sit back and watch a little and you will get the general dynamics of the board. It's a very knowledgable place. regards |
Hey Joe!
Welcome aboard. This board is a fantastic place to get information. Always check out the B/S/T to see what's for sale, it's better than buying on ebay and you get acquainted with different members. It's also fun to have your collection available for other members to view. You can use sites like photobucket or imageevent and add the URL to your sig on your Net54 profile. Personally, I ALWAYS love to see what other members have collected! Cheers. |
Welcome Joe,
lots of info here from some of the best!! again, welcome |
Guys, thanks for the warm welcome, the advice, and the good will, it is much appreciated!
|
Welcome aboard Joe!!
Sincerely,Clayton |
Hey Joe
Where you goin' with that card in your hand? Welcome to the board, a great place to hang out, learn a lot and be mildly entertained on a regular basis. If I had one word of advice it would be to watch out for Archive.
|
Yes, that Archive is a sumbitch. Also, I would advise staying away from Scott Elkins if you have a penchant for dressing up like the San Diego Chicken.

We admitted we were powerless over cardboard - that our lives had become unmanageable.
Keep coming back, Joe, it works if you work it. |
My first few Sweet Caporal's have arrived. May God help me.
