Carl Horner Photographs and Cards
To Fellow Board Members
If you are not currently a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, you may want to order the Spring 2010 issue of their member magazine, Memories and Dreams. In this issue there is an excellent story on the work of Carl Horner, the legendary baseball photographer. thanks... can you order individual issues of their magazine? I could not find it on the website.

My copy of Memories and Dreams arrived today. The article is more about Honus Wagner and Cy Young than it is about Horner but it is still of interest. Keep in mind that their target audience is baseball fandom at large and not specifically the vintage card collecting community. It's also worth noting that the Hall of Fame will be doing an exhibit this spring on cards and photography.
The HOF magazine is kind of like National Geographic in that they don't take a stand on controversial issues. Nonetheless they occasonally do a piece that is of great interest and right up the alley of collectors, for instance an entire issue devoted to the Negro Leagues a couple of years ago. I would not be without my subscription to M&D and Old Cardboard and I recommend both mags to all of you. Tell 'em Groucho sent you. http://photos.imageevent.com/ltsgall...ge/DMcD848.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/ltsgall...ge/DMcD849.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/ltsgall...ge/DMcD850.jpg |
Thanks David
I really appreciate you taking the time to do that. Most wouldn't.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Lipsett sold the photographs before that. Sorry no link. I think I still have the catalog if someone needs it.
