Have you seen this 1888 World Series poster?

I came across this 1888 World Series poster in a book. It pictures the St. Louis and New York teams along with images of the Hall Cup and Dauvray Cup.

If anyone can post a better resolution color scan I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

The book 'The Beer and Whiskey League' states the following: "This poster of the 1888 World's Series combatants exhibits the Dauvray Cup..."
Maybe the author should have called it the World Championship or League Championship?

There are very nice reproductions of both team images in the OJ book on pages 344 and 347.

The NL and AA held a World's Series from 1884 -1890 under various formats.

Thanks for locating those teams in the OJ book. The intriguing thing about the poster is that it pictures both the Hall Cup and Dauvray Cup together. I don't believe I've seen their images together on one item before, which is why I'm interested in seeing a better image of the poster.

Are we certain that's a period poster?

Best I could do hope you can read it.

Got it out of this book Great reading and pictures. Some of the old articles are not real clear. D.

Thanks for posting that interesting article.
Barry, I was wondering if it was a period piece as well.
I just noticed that Mark Rucker was the book's photo editor, so I'll contact him and ask about this poster.
