One T206 ...Two Different Names

Hi Everyone

I'm not too sure, being fairly new to collecting T206s myself, but I get the feeling these cards a few & far between. Actually this is only the ninth example that I've seen. I've been waiting awhile now to find one and finally picked this one up last week. Having a HOFer's name as the second is kinda nice also. After speaking in the past with other board members who like these T206 oddities, I thought you might enjoy seeing this one.

Thanks
Jantz

Awesome T206 Jantz!!!

I think it is pretty unique having Bresnahan's name at the top!!!I agree, you don't seem to see a lot of those available.Maybe some of the veteran T206 collectors can give their opinions?
Thanks for posting the scan Jantz!!
Sincerely,Clayton

What back is on this interesting card?

That's a great card, Jantz!

Thanks Clayton, Dave and Trae

I've had several requests to see the back. Here is a scan.

I believe Lindaman is a Series 150 only card, so I will guess that the Bresnahan would have been the portrait pose.

One I used to have many years ago...
Jennings, portrait with Jordan, Brooklyn on the top:

Might still have others.

Lindaman is one of the "Elite Eight" that were printed in the 350 Series with Piedmont backs only.

Brian-Chidester 02-02-2010 04:45 PM

So how would you explain this Piedmont 150 back, other than to posit that it has been re-backed?

Abravefan11 02-02-2010 05:17 PM

Lindaman was printed in the 150 Series, but only with a Piedmont back in the 350 series.

If you search the forum and read Ted Z's past threads you can find a lot of information on the Elite Eight.

Brian Weisner 02-02-2010 05:33 PM

Hi Barry,
Lindaman is a 150/350(short print) card.... But not 150 only....
Hope you are well Brian

barrysloate 02-02-2010 05:58 PM

Thanks Brian and Tim. I knew the Lindaman was a scarce common, so I thought it would fit into the 150 only series. I was winging it.

Brian-Chidester 02-02-2010 06:07 PM

I understand now. It was a 150 series regular, but of all the 350 series backs, you're saying that Lindeman has only ever been spotted with the Piedmont back?

Abravefan11 02-02-2010 06:18 PM

Brian - That's correct. Sorry if my original post was confusing.

According to Ted Z's surveys and research there are 8 subjects that were printed in the 150 series and then short printed in the 350 series.

Brian-Chidester 02-02-2010 06:31 PM

Yeah, I saw his reasonings for their rarity. Makes sense, especially on the retirees. I'm not as seasoned as some with regards to the backs, and especially Ted Z. He's really one of the most dedicated student of T206 I've ever seen.

Jantz 02-02-2010 09:06 PM

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Barry S - That was one of the first things I did when I saw the card. Determining whether it was the Bresnahan portrait or with bat pose.

Johnny - I see your Killian/Chance is now graded. The last time I saw that card it was raw.
