Real or fake Ruth auto?
1 Attachment(s)
Does this Ruth auto look good to the experts on the board? The R seems different then a lot of the ones i have seen, but I'm new to this and would say I dont know anything yet.

Toiugh to tell from that photo, but I think it might be ok. I have seen that type of "R" many times on pieces authenticated by Spence, PSA and the like. The remainder of the letter formation and overall autograph look pretty good.
Is it in pencil or ink? It looks like pencil, but again it's hard to tell from the photo. Most forgers would probably use ink, as it would bring more money... Hopefully others here will chime in, or you can use this resource as well.... http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_f...splay.php?f=13 |
Too hard to tell from scan. It could be real but I'd be leary of it. Besides the "R", I think the "abe" looks a bit off . Also I'm not as trusting on pencil sigs. I think sometimes forgers might use them becuase it makes it easier to reproduce a vintage sig. It's probably harder to come by the period ink etc...Just my opinion...

Real or fake Ruth auto?
I also agree, real tough to tell - most of the time cuts like this are not good
close up picture would help Jimmy |
Sorry I dont have any more scans, its actually in an auction right now. It is on a napkin so my guess is it is in pen but that is why it looks lighter, but who knows. Thanks for the help guys!
