Has anyone had problem dealing with Historic Auctions?
Has anyone had problems dealing with Historic Auctions? Does anyone know who the owner of the company is?
Thanks Matt |

I speak solely from hearsay, but I don't recall hearing anyone having complaining of any financial/shipping problems-- if that's what you mean.

James Brown was the owner's name. Not sure if he still is, as I don't follow them much anymore. Regardless, he was pleasant to deal with.
As a bidder, I had always received my items in a timely manner. They have had a few questionable items (Lou Lampson authenticated), but quite a few items carried PSA or Mears Letters as well. You just have to be careful, and know what you're bidding on. As a consignor, they paid me, but not very swiftly. It took a few phone calls, but they did eventually pay in full (and I realized very decent prices for the Game-used stuff that I consigned). I think their prices have probably come down over the past couple years though. The caliber of their auctions seems to have dropped significantly. They were on a par with Vintage Authentics a few years ago, but now the quality of their consignments seems closer to a Bricol. Hope this helps. |
Thanks for the replies so far. GUF does have some info on them that is not positive and I was sent an interesting link.
http://www.complaintsboard.com/compl...tml?sort=ratea I'll share my story about them soon, but they lost my future business and respect. Matt |
