Monty Stratton
Are there Monty Stratton cards? If so, please show 'em. Thanks!

I couldn't find any cards listed for him, but you can watch the entire "The Stratton Story" with James Stewart on Youtube:

These are the closest you get to a Stratton card...
Stratton, Monty F. • 1937 BF104 Blankets • 1938 Sawyer Biscuits White Sox I have never heard of a Sawyer Biscuit of Stratton being found so I am unsure if that one is confirmed or just suspected to exist -Rhett |

One more Monty Stratton
Stratton is also in the BF3 Type 9 series of mini-pennants:

With 4+ seasons on the White Sox, you would think he would have made it on a card.

1949 movie THE STRATTON STORY
I highly recommend seeing "THE STRATTON STORY", excellently portrayed by Jimmy Stewart.
Jimmy Stewart's movie career, upon returning from being a highly decorated Air Force pilot in WWII, was not going well. In 1949, this movie is credited with rejuvenating Stewart's career. Here are many of the active and veteran BB players and coaches who are featured in this movie. Gene Bearden Wally Berger Merle Combs Bill Dickey Joe DiMaggio Jimmy Dykes Frank Kelleher John Kerr Johnny Lindell Jack Lohrke "Peanuts" Lowrey Clarence Maddern Gene Mauch George Metkovich Lou Novikoff Roy Partee Jerry Priddy Al Rosen Hank Sauer Mervyn Shea Eddie Stewart Lou Stringer George Vico Max West Al Zarilla Gus Zernial In my opinion, this movie is the all-time 2nd best BB movie....next to The Pride of the Yankees. If the accident had never happened, I wonder if Stratton would have made it in the 1939 Play Ball set. There's a good chance he wouldn't have. There are few White Sox in the set (no Luke Appling or Ted Lyons) and no Cubs at all. There aren't many Cardinals either, so it must have been a challenge for the east coast card manufacturer to sign "western" players. I see just he opposite with the Tattoo Orbit set, which is loaded with Cubs and White Sox, but is lacking in east coast players.
If Stratton didn't get hurt, his best bet probably would have been an exhibit card or a 1941 Double Play ... |

Here's a card of Monty Stratton styled after the 1939 Play Ball issue.

That's my BF104!!!! I'm not sure how it ended up floating around in the cyber world (but I don't mind).
Stratton is also in the 1940 White Sox team issue photo set. |

Sorry Paul. A few years ago when I was chasing a BF104 type I pulled the scan (probably from an auction I was hoping to win). Later I acquired a bunch of blankets, stored scans in the wrong folder, and thought yours was one of mine. Never meant to post some one else's card. But your's is in great condition! Should have realized it wasn't one of mine... Here's some of them, so we can get back to "cards".
