1972 Roger Staubach Rookie #200 Blank Back
Hi:
I was lucky enough to pick up a Staubach Rookie blank-backed card. I was wondering if everyone thinks this is an error or a proof, and if it is considered more valuable than the regular issue? Thanks. |
1972 Staubach Blank Back
I would say it's an error blank back card. In my experience, proofs usually seem to have some paperwork or documentation. If it doesn't, asking the seller a few questions always helps.
If you have a proof card and compare it to a regular card, you will notice how much more crisp and clear the image is on the proof, and the colors are always a more solid, deeper or brighter color than a regular card. As far as more valuable, I would say yes, but to a very limited group...either to a hard core Staubach fan, or somone who's interest is only cards associated with the 1972 set, or error collectors, etc. I collect proofs, blank backs and errors from the 1978 Topps football set and would love to have a blank back Staubach from that issue. Anyone have one? or others from the 1978 set? I hope this helped Happy collecting! :)Always looking for any unique cards or items associated with the 1978 Topps football set (proofs, blank backs, original cartoon art, errors, etc.) contact me at danamty@earthlink.net |
