T206 Demmit & O'Hara NY
I think it might be time to take a pop report on the Demmit and O'Hara NY cards.
I was going through the Super Set and was surprised to find that these 2 cards have not been found with the same exact backs, yet. I would think with the change in teams they would have the same backs. I only have an O'Hara left which is Pied 350. I owned a SGC 60 SC 350 that is logged in the Super Set but no longer own. Lee |

You noted......"I was going through the Super Set and was surprised to find that these 2 cards have not been found
with the same exact backs, yet. I would think with the change in teams they would have the same backs." Most likely due to the different times of their respective trades. Demmitt was traded to the St Lo Browns 12-16-1909. Therefore, he was printed with an EPDG back, which was issued in the Fall/Winter of 1909 (approx. the same time the first availability of the Piedmont 350 series cards). I can't find a trade date when O'Hara went to the St Lo Cardinals, but I would assume it was sometime in early 1910. His NYG card with a Sovereign 350 back was issued just prior to O'Hara's trade, and must of been short-printed (as it is quite tough to find). Needless to say, both New York versions of Demmitt and O'Hara with backs other than Piedmont and Sweet Cap are seldom seen. TED Z |
