Wanted to Buy: Higher-Grade 1938 Goudey

Whilst we are in the midst of assembling the world's finest collection of rare and historically significant baseball collectibles, we realize that this is an endeavor that may take some time. Therefore, we are passing the time by building the world's penultimate collection of 1938 Goudey baseball cards and ephemera.

Since beginning our quest we have met with some of the hobby's pioneers, shared biscuits and gravy with the purveyors of the finest in fine things that are fine, and consulted the hobby oracles, all in our search for the rarest in rare rarities.

Unfortunately none of those entities had anything to offer us, so we are reduced to slumming it here on Net54 in the improbable hope that one of the hobby's dregs may have a piece or two that we can add to our collection of collectible collectibles.

As of now, we are searching for the following cards in SGC 80 or better:

#246 Ernie Lombardi
#248 Dick Bartell
#257 Al Lopez
#263 Marvin Owen
#279 Julius Solters
#284 Rudy York
#287 Marvin Owen

Additionally, we are seeking the owners of display materials related to the set, such as uncut sheets, advertising pieces, and boxes.

Furthermore, we reserve the most favorable of oral favors for anyone who would show us favor by doing us a favor and pointing us to our favorite of favors: the unopened pack.

Please contact us with your material, and be confident that your confidence will be kept in confidence.

Sincerely,

The Blue Man Group

I can't find the "like" button!

Had you included "sea of mediocrity" and "extant", it would have been perfect.

Edited to add - I love Blue Man Group. I have seen them several times.

Perhaps Sir Edward Wharton-Tigar can help?
