Help identifying this n173 look alike

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could let me know what this card is. It appears to be an n173 that has been glued to a new backing and trimmed at the bottom...
thanks, JEFF W

That's exactly what it appears to be. The photo is an original N173 but the mount isn't.

So catchers would wear a glove on each hand? How about that. Or was it just Bushong that did so?

Fingerless throwing gloves were very popular with catchers at the time.

Also gives the appearance of two of the same albumen images glued on top of each other.

The 7 card lot is a strange one.... At first I thought they were some sore of Photographers proofs, especially with the blue hand written number at the bottom on most of them. But now seeing the large photo of the Bushong one it does look like the photo was glued on top of another image (upper left corner).

Two thoughts;

1) Somebody made a new photo and glued it onto an old cabinet card in trying to pull one over on somebody.

2) Someone in the past had a real Old Judge cabinet and either because the backing was in bad shape or because they didn't want the tobacco advertising, they removed the photo from the backing and glued it onto another cabinet card.

If those are two albumens on top of each other, then they are both Bushong images. Look how the grass, lines, etc. Match up around the edges.

It doesn't appear to be a photo glued onto another to me...the photo has some light area around the border that probably happened when it was developed. I'd be sure to take a blacklight to this though if it were mine.
