I Need Help Dating This Pennant
I got this a few months ago, it is a rectangle pennant made by "The Chicago Pennant Company" (I believe). There is a tag n the back, but it is framed now, so I maybe wrong.
This Tiger Logo was never used very much and I do not know when they used it. I was wondering if anyone knew when rectagular pennants were made: http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...lsupennant.jpg |
How many teams can we get?
Here is my 24 1x2" x 14" banner with the tag in back. Is the tag the same as yours? Hope it helps in dating them. D.

based on the shape of the "ball" i would guess this is from the early part of the last century. that and it's partially moth eaten...
if anyone has any information on the pennant and or manufacturer please pass it on. thanks, chris |

Not sure if this helps, but this is the label from a early Chicago Pennant Co. Carleton College banner circa teens or twenties. It actually has a leather college seal sewn to the banner.
Zip Codes were introduced in 1963; I believe the postal codes included in the addresses (ie Chicago 30, Illinois) were begun in the 1940s. The term "rayon" wasn't used until 1924 and I don't think the government required fabric content labeling until the early sixties. I think the LSU banner dates to the early sixties. http://s915.photobucket.com/albums/a...NNANTLABEL.jpg |
