Perez - great stuff - love that shot of Brush.
And the red NY Giants pennant is incredible - best I've seen. Here's a Bain shot of the right field bleachers during Game 3 of the 1911 World Series, and an early photo of Mathewson in the same ballpark. Frank Baker earned his nickname of course, hitting some homers in this series, the second one of which landed in those very right-field bleachers, off Mathewson, which tied Game 3... |
Perezfan - KILLER shots of Brush and Matty. I'd love to paint 'em all!
|
That Brush photo is indeed deluxe. It would be a nice companion piece to Joe's 1905 Season Pass signed by Brush.

I can put up so much on this thread,, let's start with this invite to the Polo Grounds Opening Day 1905. Hanging on my wall, under glass, sorry for the image not being clear, scanning under glass leads to this image.
Sold to me by a walk in many years ago, I don't remember which show. A dealer/friend sent him to my table because it was a Giants piece. -- |

The New York Giants charms of the 1910's-30's have always appealed to me, the little silver season passes that look like a hand or a fence, or actually are a functional pocket knife or a pencil. Hopefully you folks know what I'm talking about. But this one takes the cake, in my opinion. It's a gorgeous gold Championship pendant presented to a minor figure on the 1921 team. Infinitely more attractive than the Mr. T-inspired monstrosities that pass for Championship rings today. This sold in the Heritage Auctions October 2007 sale:
