Postcards etc.....
The fave PC poll thread got me to thinking I would like to see some more....btw, I do think the Rose ones are the best looking.....very ornate but very subjective (obviously).....here is one I have shown before but not too often.....not too many Zee Nut plane PC's around...

Always get a kick out of those old postcards that simply list the person's name and the town/city they live in. No address. No zip.

Any chance Frank Baker was reincarnated as former REM drummer Billy Berry?

A few more.
Someone mentioned E&S: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g5...s/ChanceES.jpg 1910 Brush Auto: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g5...ningsBrush.jpg Parent's new house. Maybe Rawn could track it down: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g5...rds/Parent.jpg PC773-2: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g5...tcards/PC7.jpg Grignon: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g5...Ruehlbach2.jpg |
Disregard the picture squeezed in between the two CrackerJack PC's shown below, although it's pretty cool itself. I've often wondered what event the young boy could of been at who's selling the Crackerjacks stacked on his wooden card. Think of all those beautiful CJ's just sitting inside those boxes.

1931 Tour of Japan Postcard of Lefty Grove...

Question about Leon's Collins-McCarthy / Zeenut postcard. The back of the postcard has a stamp for the Standard Biscuit Company. We all know that Standard Biscuit and Collins-McCarthy both issued the same cards (E-135 and D-350-2). In light of the stamp on Leon's postcard, is it possible that there was a much closer relationship between the two companies?

Interesting Southern PC...

This PC was taken of the Chattanooga Lookouts in 1909 when this team was with the Class C South Atlantic League, just before they moved over to Class A Southern Association. The PC was actually sent to a Minor League player in Kansas, Elmer Brooks, explaining the Chatt. Ball Club would be sending Elmer his Bat Case and Sweaters... (I think he did not make the Lookout team after being invited to Spring Training... Sabr shows Brooks played Class D ball in Kansas that year and hit .198, then hit 202 in 1910 for another Central Kansas League team) Several Major Leaguer's on this PC, including Mgr Dobbs... Also, the Mascot is of interest on the PC. What I love about PC's is they can also tell a story !
