What did you win in the Mile High Auction?

I was close on a lot of things but did manage to snag these 2 cards. The Turkey Red is of Boss Schmidt who was born and raised just down the road from here in Coal Hill. The 1915 Zeenut of PCL HOFer Spider Baum with Coupon tab is a welcome addition to the collection.

some of the cards i was chasing went for strong prices IMO
I did manage to drag up a couple from the bottom though: |
Granddaddy of a card in my book for a very affordable price imo

Cheap prices in my opinion
I saw the final results and I thought the e107 Cy Young was really a good deal. It was the same card auctioned off in March 09, only this time the final price was around $15,000 less. I thought the 1914 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson was going to go around $90,000. I got outbid on the green Cobb and E93 Honus Wagner.

I picked up the 1915 Zeenut w/tab Barbour. Have shown it already on the October Pickup Thread.
Nice companion to my 1909 Rose PC Springfield card of Barbour. The Baum is very nice!!! |
TBob won the Baum (nice price BTW) and I won the Barbour (I'm happy with the price) but what's the deal with the Ables???

Perhaps
Some of the bidders from other auctions made a guest appearence for the Ables card :)
|
I'm with Steve, I was astounded by the Ables' price. It's not any tougher than the other 1915 Zeenuts listed and you figure if someone wanted a 1915 with Coupon intact as a type card he could have picked up any of the others. I dunno, maybe Ables' grandson was bidding and got in to a "pissing match" with another bidder

Picked up a few Goudey's, which is very unusual for me these days.
|
I won the 2 E91 strips. Should make for a nice display once I get them framed and matted

Just wanted one T3 HOFer as a "type card", and this one looked kinda nice for the grade. Tough choice between this one, the Fred Clarke and the Ed Walsh (of which both prices climbed lots higher...)
