Cycle Backed T206's
Do they carry a big premium?
|
More of a premium than your Piedmont,Sweet Caporal,Polar Bear...they do seem to be more difficult to find-same range as Tolstoi,Hindu,,,
|
would a grade 2 or 3 be worth $30 or do they sell for more or less typically?
|
It's hard to say,but try this-got to T206.org,,then go to where it says "valuation",,they have a system where you can put in the players name, type of back, and grade, and it will give you an estimate of what it is worth. Now,I'm not sure how up-to-date the pricing is,but you can play around and put in the same info, with a more common back, and see what the difference in value-it's fun,and free.

206 has 2 different cycle backs-350 and 460. The 350 is pretty easy to find and just a slight premium and the 460 is a bit tougher and probably 2 times regular value. Maybe a 50 dollar card would be 80 to 100 with cycle 460.
most tough back 206s have kept their value but the common backs are probably 50% what they once were. Also alot has to do with what player is on the front. |
$30 for any Cycle in a 3 grade is good in my opinion. 460's are harder to find but 350's are still nice.

I collect Cycle 460s and follow 350's. A good rule of thumb is 2 times for the 350s and 2.5 times in the 460s, in lower grades. As the grades get higher you can drop the %.
I have noticed recently though that all the Cycles have been commanding higher prices than this. As also this will vary greatly at times. Lee |
