51 bowman mantle altered
 

Why do you think this mantle got a altered authentic? would it be because tape was removed from each corner? thoughts

tape still there?
 

It looks as though the tape is still on the front corners. IF that is the case then that is the reason for the AUT. Tape will usually garner an AUT grade....

Perhaps, it was recolored?

Maybe, the black border line near 1 or more corners due to paper loss or the end of the bat barrel?

overall i would buy one that isnt altered and a little better condition

Welllll...

If the tape was removed and it's the residue that remains (can't tell) and someone tried to clean and/or scrub the the residue, then it may be considered altered.
