1980 Topps basketball lot + wax box * ENDS TONIGHT 10 EASTERN
 

Up for auction is a lot of 350-plus assorted 1980-81 Topps basketball cards and an empty wax box, which pictures the always-in-demand Bird-Erving-Magic card.

The cards average near-mint condition, though there probably are a handful that are less than that because of wax stains, centering, etc. There actually are more than 370 cards in the group, but bid as if there are only 350 to account for the few that might be less than near-mint. The group includes minor stars (Gervin, Moses Malone, Rick Barry, Gilmore, etc.) but none of the biggies.

As you can tell in the picture below, the wax box has been used for its intended purpose of display and shows some wear. But it displays nicely and is a neat companion piece to the cards or a 1980-81 set.

Bidding starts at $10, with bidding increments of $2. Bid only via posts to this thread, please. Auction ends Friday, Sept. 18 at 10 p.m. Eastern. A bid logged at 10:00 p.m. is valid; a bid at 10:01 p.m. is not.

Shipping is $3. Payment by check or money order only. If I recognize you from the board, I'll ship your winnings on Monday following the auction to make up for the no-PayPal delay.

Try placing a really, really large bid (think: 3x the value of the item you're bidding on) in hopes of discouraging others.
