Cobb sold. Doyle hands over head remains open.

Here are 2 T206 cards offered in 2 separate auctions... both in this thread.

The Cobb card is the Ty Cobb red portrait card, a Piedmont 460 series, factory number 25. SGC 20.

The Doyle card is not graded, it is worn as can be seen. Hands above head. Sweet Caporal 350 series, factory number 30.

I'm selling these to get money together to get a T210 series 6 card I lack, that's been offered to my by a kind board member!!!

1 Each is offered with a reserve.
2 Bids in $1 increments.
3 If / when the reserve is reached, I'll contact the bidder who bid beyond the reserve, and ask them what time they'd like the auction to end, 1 to 2 days later. I'll then post that the reserve has been reached and announce the time and day of the auction's end. Any bid made at or prior to that time on the Net54 clock will be accepted. And, if a bid is made within the last 5 minutes, then bids will be accepted up to 5 minutes past that last bid, continuing until there has been 5 or more minutes of no bids.
3 I'll ship 1st class mail with delivery confirmation (and insurance on Cobb). Or, I'll ship a more expensive way at winners' cost.

BE SUE to specify, with your bids, whether it is a Cobb bid or a Doyle Bid.

Email me at fwakefield1@comcast.net if you have questions.

Thanks. Frank Wakefield

FrankWakefield 08-25-2009 02:54 PM

Quan sees all, and knows all... I have about a dozen slabbed cards. One is a Broad Leaf that SGC has misidentified, so I've not broken it out. And here I am selling one. Help rid me of my slabs, guys!!!

Bid on the holder, not the card.

So KCohen and RodD, could you post your comments on the regular board, refrain from interfering with my auction, and not post here unless you're bidding, please? When did I interfere in your auctions?

Frank posted several scans of the Cobb using the board's album; are they not visible to everyone?

Also visible in his album, here: http://www.net54baseball.com/album.php?albumid=79

matt i can't see frank's album and don't see the cobb scans...

I have now tried to link the images through Photobucket... Thanks.

Problem viewing Frank's images

FYI,

I've exchanged PM's with Matt and it seems that some can see the images Frank posted (Matt can, he's using Netscape) and some can't (I can't, I'm using Google Chrome). For me, the link Matt posted to Frank's album is broken. However, I can see many other posters' images and albums.

Matt had to step out but I'm sure he'll work on resolving the problem when he returns.

Edited to say that as soon as I posted this reply, the images became visible for me. Wierd!

Sorry for interrupting your auction, Frank, but wanted to clarify the situation.

Regards,
Craig

FrankWakefield 08-25-2009 07:29 PM

Thank you, Craig. That is a perfectly acceptable digression.

I may well have botched your analysis, having now converted to Photobucket.

White Borders 08-25-2009 07:36 PM

I'll start the Doyle at $15 as I can now see the images (see my edited reply above).

I believe Frank had (has) his Net54 albums private which is why they aren't showing in the main section on his user page. Just so no one else out there is worried that their photos aren't visible, Rob D and Craig W had no issue seeing everyone's public albums. The issue has nothing to do with browsers.

The reserve has been reached on the Cobb red portrait T206.

The auction will end at 9:00 AM Central Time on Saturday, August 29, 2009, per the 5 minute rule above.

Thank you, guys!!

Doyle is closing in on the reserve, just a ways to go...

And there is obviously no love for my 1944 New York Giants roster in another auction above. Those rosters from before 1950 aren't all that plentiful...

A sincere thank you. FW
