Babe Ruth and the Dodgers question I was doing some research and saw that Babe Ruth was a base coach for the Dodgers in 1937 (I think that was the year). I am sure there are no "official" cards of Babe in a Dodger uniform, but does anybody know of any pictures that might exist with Babe in a Dodgers uniform. Also I wonder if base coaches even wore the teams uniforms like todays base coaches do. |

His Dodgers uniform was sold last November by SCP Auctions. I think the listing had some photos if you can dig it up. |

It was actually 1938 when he coached the Dodgers. And there are photos of him in a Brooklyn uniform. |

I'm and idiot. I just Googled it and there was tons of pictures. Thanks for the help guys. |

1 Attachment(s) Here's a photo of Ruth with three of his Dodger teammates ... the patch on Kiki Cuyler's says 1939, but it's definitely the 1938 patch that all players wore that year ... |

Another Ruth image Here is one with (I think) Hartnett...this is from a post card given out at a baseball card show in New York City, in 1978. Joshua http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u...thhartnett.jpg |

That's his old teammate, Tony Lazzeri. |

 Not pre-war but.... Quote:
He is featured as a Dodgers base coach on the 1962 Topps #142 card. Maybe someone can post a nice copy of one for you, as I am presently scan posting challenged. |
