Red sox collectors, can anyone help?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi..
I have this pair of socks I got a few years ago, and someone said they COULD be Jim Rice's socks, or he said they likely were. Do these look anything like the type of Socks the Red Sox players could have worn at any time? Any help would be appreciated on this. Thank you. Scott. |
Bumping this for those who haven't seen it. Thanks.

Jim works as an analysist for NESN. Perhaps they can direct you to his email where you can send the pic?

May be a long shot, but thank you very much for the idea. I'll probably give it a try.

I could be way off the mark here as this isn't exactly pre-war, but in looking at photos of Jim in his playing days (and the Sox in general - don't mind me, they're in a slump right now and I'm in a bad mood), he appears to be wearing true stirrups rather than this style of sock you picture. Whether he switched over to something like this at some point in time, I have no idea. For some reason, however, these don't look like they were his but I could be completely wrong. When I google "softball stirrups", this style comes up very frequently.
