I missed the first pin party that Leon started a few weeks back, and now that I've finally learned my away around my computer, I thought if no one minds, I'd start a new pin thread.

This card with Luke Appling day pin was given out to sponsors who contributed cash or gifts to Luke's special day.

Greg, awesome pins....some I've never seen before. What's up with that Wheeling Jeurgens Bread pin?
Here's a companion photo for your KC Blues pin. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...ansascity1.jpg And here is my latest pinback pickup http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...denver1911.jpg |

Dan,
Love the photo, and that Denver pin is incredible -- the bear patches are great. The Juergen's pin is the only one I've ever seen -- don't know who the player is -- bought it in a Mastro's auction years ago. Here's a photo of a couple of framed pin displays, and a couple of my favorite Rabbit Maranville pinbacks. Greg |
The Juergen's pin is from 1909 when they won the Central League. Not sure who the player is, but I think it is Bill Phillips, manager and pitcher. Compared to some photographs of pins that I have seen, I would say yours are perfect.
Beautiful displays of beautiful pins! |

Greg,
Fantastic pins. Any other Red Sox pins? Greg |
I've updated my pinback collection photo at last. There are a few new pieces.

As a Yankees fan (sorry), I don't have many other Boston pinbacks. here are a couple, although the Cronin may not be from his Boston days. By the way, even as a Yankees fan, I have appreciated and enjoyed the Amazing Sox pieces you've posted on the forum. I've also included three vintage PCL pins I picked up earlier this year. Greg W. |
Greg,
Thanks for the post. Should that Cigar Maker Blue Label pin you show in one of your photos ever start to burn a hole in your Yankee soul :D let me know if you would ever want to get rid of it. All the best, Greg |
There are several of your pins that I am currently coveting, here's a few more of mine...

My first post. The Al Kaline promotional pin is a recent acquisition and I have never seen this pin before. I am hoping an advanced pin collector can share some information. Thanks. Adam

Rhett - let me know if you ever get tired of your Stenzel's Rooters pins... other than possibly the Pepsin ones, those are my favorite Reds pins.
Here are a few of my favorite Kluszewski pins. |
