Pre-War Baseball Best Hairstyle of All-Time

1 Attachment(s)
After looking closely at my 1915 Cracker Jack's, I noticed the hairstlye that Joe Tinker was styling and wondered which other style you thought looked the funiest? Could you imagine, if one of your friends at work showed up with a cool Tinker hairstyle.

Let's see your favorite Pre-war hairstyle!!!

No contest....it has to be Frank "Shag" Shaughnessy's T206 card.

shag

Ted, I agree. It's always Shag when it comes to hair style---except when he
gets older and a wee bit conservative and looks like my coaches from the
late 50s and early 60s. :)

best,
barry

Barry A......

You are correct....here you go. Frank didn't play much MLB, but he was
an all-around athlete. Notre Dame FB Captain and Coach.
Went on to be the President of the International League. Quite a guy.

Ted,
many thanks for the pic---it's exactly the one that i remembered.
quite a career and a bit of a stern countenance.
i guess as he 'grew up' like the rest of us, he had to get rid of the shag.

best,

barry

Sounds like a new thread idea: post pics of your old "shag" (and no, I'm not gonna do it)!!!

Perhaps less the haircut than what it suggests about the shape of his head....

Good ol' Frank "Police Badge Head" Kitson!

Ben DeMott had a 1911 Pinkerton cabinet - though I've never seen a scan of it. Anyway - here is his "do".
