"His attorney, James Noucas, told the court his client was recently treated for "obsessive compulsive behavior surrounding baseball cards" and, according to a police report, Trofatter described himself as "borderline addicted" to collecting the cards."

Lot of that going around.

Gee, it's funny how he's addicted to collecting the cards yet has no problem with turning around and selling it.

GrayGhost 07-08-2009 06:59 AM

Yah, just resell it. some OCD

It's possible that someone could deal in order to support his addiction.

GrayGhost 07-08-2009 07:37 AM

Yeah, that actually is true Id guess. Maybe he was selling it, so he could buy more cards.

If that's the case ... I say, let's help the man.

Let's send him up for a couple of years.

A cold turkey is just what he needs.

Maybe his name is really Postal employee Newman :D

I've sent fifty or more packages to one of the poorest countries in Africa (to several townships) this past year. Not one opened, damaged nor pilfered. No question those postal servants knew there was valuable contents coming from USA. Heck, them finding a box of Cheez-Its would be like Christmas morning for us.

Postal employee Newman: "I'll handle this, Violet. Why don't you take your three hour break?"

Yet, this clown throws away a flippin million-dollar career for chicken sh!t. Illness? Moot point. He refused the help available to him. Let the greedy sob hang.

*From the APWU AFL-CIO,

What is the Employee Assistance Program, EAP?

EAP is a free, voluntary program available to postal employees and their families. It is intended to provide timely, quality, confidential assistance when it is needed."*

I wonder why this case was prosecuted in state court versus federal court. Sounds like something Postal Inspectors are paid to do rather than a PD detective.
