Have a few matted photos with signed 3x5s that I've yet to get framed. Marquard is one of them.
So how many of us have presence of mind to remember that Richard Marquard was a southpaw?? http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...&pictureid=761 |

The other Rube. My friends say that he looks like a clown. Kinda pisses me off, even though they may have a point!

Here is a trivia question for Frank and everyone else.
Since we are talking about Left-handers (like Marquard). Name the last two left handed pitchers to win 30 games in a season? One should be easy, the other...not so much. -Rhett |
Lonaconing Lefty Grove won 31 for the A's in 1931. Frank Killen won 30 for Pittsburgh in 1896. According to vcp.com Killen appeared on a Cameo Pepsin and a Chickering Studio Cabinet. Any one got either Killen to show?
|
David, good job, Lefty Grove was the gimme & Killen was the toughie
(did you notice I threw out Frank's name with the question on purpose?) Anyways, here is the Cameo Pepsin Killen, the image is a bit light but it is one of only 2 I have ever seen. http://www.geocities.com/rhettmatthew_37/killen.JPG -Rhett |

Even though it was just posted so mine makes it a double in the thread, it's my only Marquard so I'm dropping it in the mix anyway...
