I'll guess 1940's or 50's- no idea of the value.

That's Johnson's writing on the back. He died in '61, but the availability of his signature meets the limited demand.
No clue on value of this piece. |

Wheeler Johnston....
Wheeler "Doc" Johnston and his brother Jimmy were two early baseball "stars" in Chattanooga. After his major league career, Doc managed the Lookouts. Both were well-known around town and both were life-long residents of Chattanooga.
As the resident Chattanooga Lookouts nut around here, I would LOVE to find one of those cards! Age of the card would be 40's. I would have to consult my period city directories to nail it down. Andy |
