Best I can do as I have no pre-war Wagners unless we can make it pre-Korea.

Here's my one and only Wagner card, unless I count my 1910 Heinie Wagner, which makes for a great conversation piece!

Wow, Greg, I didn't realize you had picked that one up. Make sure Leon sees it; I think it will make him a bit nauseous. :)
|
Have had it for years. Not often I get to post a picture of a card I own as I have very few left.
|
Jeff
I was the underbidder to Greg on it on ebay. I just didn't have the money at the time to go higher. There was one in a recent Heritage auction but I decided to save my pennies for something else.....plus I have the only other card known that looks simililar to it, a Moose McCormick card....so it would have only been an upgrade....Still a great card....

Some sick, sick posts in this thread. That Tip Top, the Voskamp (was drooling over that one at REA), Fleischman's with tab, the PCs, and the Wagner day pin are all making my jaw drop. Thanks for posting, gents.
(Some day I hope to have something to contribute to a Wagner thread, but alas, today I have bupkis). |

Craig and Bob,
The Hermes pin is great and that Wagner poster is my favorite piece in this thread. Out of curiosity, how do you know there were only 3 made? Mike |
doc....
I made them. Had them made I should say. The Pictures were the top 3/4's of an old cardstock bank advertisement piece. The lower part had the entire National League schedule for 1912 (or 1913, I forget). I still have it somewhere, I'll have to dig through some stuff. The original is a very rare piece. I've only seen 2 or 3 copies..ever. My original had the St. Louis portion of the sked clipped and was used as the backing for an old picture, only to be freed 90 years later. This picture you see here was cleaned up via photoshop and enlarged to it's current size 24"x28".
