No Christy..... :(

I was told these cabinets are turn of the century Bucknell football players. I was hoping to find a picture of Chrsty Mathewson with the lot, but no such luck.
While doing the research on these cards I found a 1902 Bucknell Baseball team picture (below) to see what Christy looked like, and while I did not find any of the football cabinet cards looked like Christy, I do think the football player in the top right picture looks like the player in the front row 2nd from left in the Baseball team picture. If true it helps me to date the football pictures. However, I am not even sure these are Bucknell players and I do not know the age/date. Can you help identify these as Bucknell and/or their date. Thanks Greg |
Christy?
So I assume that is him on the top row, 2nd from the right? It looks like his ears.

I agree with Leon.

I've seen a couple like this the last few days. If you want ID's or face comparisons that have a chance of being valid you need to post reasonable scans. Other than the obvious Matty - it's impossible to compare anyone to the Bucknell team photo you posted.
The football cabinets - need better res on those also, that I can't provide. Then I would be happy to give you an opinion. http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/82a01c0a.jpg |
Here's a bigger image of the bucknell player

Does this guy look like the person laying down in the front row 2nd from the left in the (higher res) bucknell baseball team picture?

Subjectively they don't look like the same person to me.
More specifically, though the head angles are different so that some judgement is involved, IMO the left ears don't match, especially at the top of the ear. |
