The uniform suggest 1890s...the cabinet style suggests closer to 1900-1910 so I'm going to guess right around 1900..possibly late 1890s.

Obviously a team in or near Wichita Falls...look for something that makes sense for the initials "GT" in Wichita Falls or close by.

I would rarely disagree with Dan, but that bib-front jersey suggests a much earlier photo - 1870's I would think. As to dating cabinet style, I have to defer to others.

Some teams used Bib Front jerseys into the 1890's although they were outdated. Dan is right on the Cabinet styles age and maybe this kid is wearing a hand me down jersey from a Dad or Older sibling or something.

Would I be Right??????

would I be right to say he is Georgetown. Georgetown is the closest to Wichita Falls. Also Galveston is another I have thought of and is noth much further off. Both of these cities did have several teams per city at this time frame. No rosters could be found though for them. They were class A, B, and C teams. Could this bring in $475. I have already spoke with another person and they gave me their thoughts about it. I am just wondering if this carries a value over $100 mark. Thanks to all for your time and help.

Mark, it was not unusual at all for amateur teams to be wearing bib style uniforms in the 1890s.

Axtell, Nebraska 1893-94

I also have owned a cabinet photo of a teammate of Zane Grey wearing a bib uniform with quilted pants.

Thanks for the info :)

Axtell photo is really nice.

I think this cabinet photo is worth probably around $50-$100 and my personal opinion is that it is closer to $50 than $100. Hopefully this is not to harsh of news for you, but unless this was an identified player from the Texas League it would not be worth near $475 (and probably not that much even if it was an identified Texas Leaguer).

I would agree 1890's, and a value around $50.

Rhys, we're on the same page...I emailed him the exact estimate last night of $50-$100.
