Penny gumball machine
1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone date this gumball machine for me? It is 15" tall 7"deep and 9" wide. Teams listed are American league White Sox, Yankees, Indians, Tigers, Orioles, Angels, Athletics, Senators, Red Sox, and Twins. National league Cubs, Giants, Dodgers, Pirates, Braves, Phillies, Cardinals, Colts, Reds, and Mets. I think it is between 1962 & 1964 because of the Colts. What would be the value with key and works great. Thanks D.

Hi D -- sorry, not much information to offer, but since there's been nothing else at all so far...
we'd say your "Colts"-based estimate is inarguably correct, and you're probably not going to be able to pin down a date for it any more specifically than that. The only other example of this particular machine that we've seen -- likewise in nice working condition -- sold for $260. (plus S&H) not quite four years ago on eBay. That's a shade low compared to other baseball-themed coin-ops of comparable size and condition, but most of those are 1930s-to-1950s vintage and are more often found at the more upscale online sports memorabilia auction houses. Any indication of a manufacturer on that item? |
I can not find any markings or numbers. Thanks for your response. D.

Gumball Machine
Your Gumball Machine was manufactured by Victor Vending of Chicago. Sorry to say they went out of business in the 1980's or 1990's. They made Gumball, Peanut and other bulk machines for many years. They also made a few different game type Gumball machines such as yours. I have the coin mechanism for your machine and my guess is if you have the Original key the number is either VC-96 or VC-97. If the machine has a top lock the key number is probably VC-93 or VC-94. In my opinion the value of your machine is around $750.00 or more. This machine is SCARCE.
