Question on Autograph Authentication

I know a gentleman who collected autographed sports books. He obtained the vast majority of signatures in person. I have sold quite a few of these books for him in the past. He has a few signed Mantle and DiMaggio books he wants me to sell. eBay does not permit a seller to list these autos without certification from one of the big companies. Certification costs 75.00-100.00 on these Yankee legends and the books are only worth 175-200.

My question is: How would you go about selling these pieces? Is there a way around this eBay requirement? How do people justify paying PSA/DNA 50-100 for authenticating a piece that is only worth 100-200 dollars? Thanks in advance!

Is the PSA/DNA Quick Opinion allowed? That's $10. Though you'd get that during the auction as opposed to before.

I dont think its a requirement to have a "BIG" name authentication COA, as I see tons of autographs with no name coa's. I would run a 7 day auction, and right after I listed the items I would do a PSA/DNA quick opinion and update the auction with the results copied and pasted. That should ease the mind of buyers and generate a little more income from the items.
