Books by Baseball Players
1 Attachment(s)
I have two books by past pro baseball players, first is "Pitcher Pollock" by Christy Mathewson published 1914, second is "Strikeout Story" by Bob Feller published in 1947. Can anyone inform me as to are these 1st editions or not and are they worth a darn?

Strikeout Story is an ex-library copy (it appears) and is worth nothing.
Pitcher Pollock is a Grosset reprint from the 1920s. It is very common. Someone might buy it on ebay, but it's hit or miss. It really only has any value with the dust jacket, perhaps $50 to $100 with a nicer jacket. The first editions in this series are in red boards, published by Dodd Mead. Here's a copy of Second Base Sloan , Dodd Mead, from that series, in a dj: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/14/92...10650213ba.jpg Max |
