Lew Lipset's Auction Pick-Ups

Posted By: Phil Garry
Did anyone on the board pick up anything in last night's auction? I went hard after one lot, the group of 100 Sporting Life Newspapers and came up the underbidder as happens many times to me. The price of the lot tripled during the extended bidding time. I am only interested in a few issues if the winner would like to make a good chunk of their money back, please e-mail me privately at: vguerrerobb@yahoo.com

Posted By: Kevin Cummings
If any Net 54 member won lot #4 - the Joseph Hall Brooklyn Players' League composite cabinet - I would love to get a large scan of it. I am friendly with Ed Weyhing, Gus Weyhing's nephew, and since Gus is pictured on the card, I'd like to be able to share that image with him.

The image that accompanied the auction description was not as crisp and clear as it might have been.

Posted By: Bottom of the Ninth
While I was bidding Lew shut down the auction. Placed a bid on the first of 8 lots. Went to the second one and it said auction was closed. I knew this one was going to end earlier than his last one but I thought I had a few minutes left, at the very least. Perfect example of what happens when you don't put in top alls and wait until the last minute.
