Posted By: Jim VB
I think it's very difficult to compare different eras in basketball. Watch any old video and almost all the players in the past look slow, skinny and unathletic. In order to be fair, you would have to make an assumption that a 1960's star (Big O for example) would have "upped" his training and conditioning to current standards. I remember, as a kid, watching Chamberlain and thinking he looked like a monster. Compared against today's players, he looked lean.

Even so, my team would be:

Point - Oscar

2 Guard - MJ

Small forward - Bird

Power forward - Pettit

Center - Russell

(And if my second team was: Magic, Kobe, Lebron, the Mailman and Wilt, practices would be a hoot.)

Posted By: DD
C - Wilt Chamberlain
PG - Oscar Robertson
SG - Michael Jordan
PF - Karl Malone
SF - Pete Maravich

Unstoppable triangle/pick and roll offense with the greatest passing center and pick and roll forward with Maravich hitting about 30 outside shots a game uncontested. If he's off, I think Michael, Oscar and Wilt can pick up the slack.
