Joe Garagiola Topps cards

Posted By: Al
Ever once in a while Topps puts out single card issues as a tribute/ memorial to someone. The 1990 President Bush card and the 1984 Darryl Palmer cards come to mind. In 1973 Topps issued a Joe Garagiola card with a bald Joe listed a a catcher for the NBC All Stars. The card is in the 1973 format.

But then in 1991 Topps reissued that card, still in the same 1973 format, but this time listing him as a catcher for the Today Show All Stars. Both were in the nature of business cards issued to Joe personally. They show up on ebay from time to time, often with his autograph added post production
