fixing paper loss...or not

Posted By: Leslie Westbrook
I've got a 1967 Topps Mickey Mantle that's in pretty good shape except for the top right corner. The card back is fully intact, but the surface paper is torn off at that corner and I have the corner piece that fits perfectly over the corner. Is it a bad idea to reattach the paper to the corner? Or, just leave it separated. I think the overall appearance of the card would improve if the paper was reattached, but I'm worried it would disenigrate any integrity/resale value the card has left. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
