1996 SI Tiger Woods
Posted By: Dan Paradis
Anyone out there know anything about this card? I have a chance to buy a Pro 10 (I realize that Pro 10 may be PSA 6) for $500. How were these cards cut? Anything you can tell me will help. Thanks.

Posted By: Patrick McHugh
The cards were issued in a sports illustrated for kids magazine in a 9 card sheet. Trust me when i say Never Ever buy any card in a pro grading holder. If you really want to own this card look on ebay for a sgc or psa graded card.

Posted By: Dan Paradis
Thanks for the response. I am pretty good at estimating
what PSA will grade for baseball cards (or at least
cards that are factory cut). So let's pretend this
card is not graded. How do I verify the corners and
edges for a card that is not factory cut. The only
reason I am still pursuing this is that a PSA 9 and
especially 10 are priced higher than his asking price.

Thanks.

Posted By: PC
Dan: here are the possibilities with that PRO graded card ... at best, the card is overgraded. Very likely, it is altered/trimmed. Worst case scenario, it is a counterfeit.

Still want to buy PRO? Go right ahead.

Posted By: Dan
Thanks for your help. I actually forgot I posted this. In the
last few days I offered him top $$ if I could send the card to
PSA and have it graded. He refused and lowered his ask price
a few times. The price is now $300. I told him I wouldn't
even pay $100 unless I could get it regraded. Deal is done!!
Thanks again!!
